“Let us meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.” ~ Mother Teresa
It is said, “Love makes the world go round”. In fact, The Beatles wrote a song about it entitled, All You Need is Love.
The challenge is that up until now, we have lived in an outside/in world…meaning that we look to an outside source (many times spouses, lovers, children, employers and even the government) to validate us so that we feel loved. There was even a song written about that in the early ’80’s called, Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places.
The true love that we desire doesn’t come from “out there.” In fact it is actually so close many miss it. Love actually resides within each of us. In each and every one of us lives a Love that has been with us since the beginning of time. It is important to remember, that there is never a lack of love in our lives, only a lack of awareness of the Love that dwells within each of us.
Since the day I met my father-in-law, close to 25 years ago, he would say, “You are loved more than you will ever know.” Over the years I have found this to be true. There is an endless supply of love. Our job is to access that Love Supply and then open the flow of love by being a beacon of Love.
One thing I have found to be true is that when we give to others, we receive so much in return. In elevating others, we are elevated. In fact, this is one of the most profound universal principles, “Give and you shall receive.” There are many ways to express love: a hug, word of appreciation or encouragement, truly listening to another, the list goes on and on.
This week I invite you to expand your awareness of the power of Love’s Presence that resides within you and find your way to express it to the world. My personal favorite is simply a smile. It takes less than a second and can be accessed 24/7. This simple act has the power to change the world. Whichever way you decide to express Love this week, know that each time you do, you are making the world a better place and in return, your world becomes better as well.
Remember always, “You are Loved more than you will EVER know!”
