Sometimes we simply just need to take one small step or even a big leap.
We could wait until our checklists are perfected and the pencils are sharpened and the books are stacked neatly on the shelves. And yet remember this, while waiting for things to be perfect, someone else is actually jumping in head-first, taking the big leap and even if they miss the mark, learning greatly from their mistakes.
You may have heard that FEAR is the acronym for “False Evidence Appearing Real,” which is exactly what it is.
“You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn’t exist anywhere except your mind.” ~ Dale Carnegie
BEING confident doesn’t mean that you have to FEEL confident. It won’t always be easy to go out of your comfort zone and take action when your palms are sweating and your knees are shaking. Yet, by taking action even in the face of FEAR, you can literally move mountains, and simply do it afraid. When we choose to trust our inner voice, take that next small step or big leap – WHILE WE ARE FEELING THE FEAR, is the very moment we connect with a power even greater than ourselves.
Ask yourself, is fear playing a role in your life? It may not even be a constant fear, but rather an influence on small decisions you make on a daily basis. It might be showing up as procrastination, perfectionism, overwhelm or feeling stuck.
Today, is your opportunity to move the needle to elevate your greatest results. Simply make the decision to take action or even massive action – even if you are afraid. Send that manuscript to the publisher even though you are afraid it would be turned down. Go back to get your degree even though you feel you are too busy or too old. Get out of that toxic relationship even though you are scared of being alone.
“Sometimes what you’re most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.” –Robert Tew
So what would you attempt right now if you knew you simply couldn’t fail? Do it afraid! Take action today!
