A famous scripture reads,
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven…”
And it’s true. Our lives, like nature, go through various seasons. We experience seasons when life is in full bloom, seasons when we bask in the warmth of love and success, and seasons when we harvest the fruits of prosperity in important areas of our lives.
But then there are times when life’s challenges plunge us into an icy “winter.” Most of us spend our time trying to avoid adversity, but in the seasons of life, adversity is inevitable.
The great author Napoleon Hill said,
“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
We discover then, that the secret to dissolving adversity, failure and heartache is to embrace it instead – knowing that through the experience, our gift is the opportunity to grow and shape our character into one that will help us to succeed in every area of life.
In traditions throughout the world this weekend, people are celebrating Easter and the Springtime season that comes with it, as a time of resurrection, re-birth and new beginnings. Ultimately Spring is about opportunity, and it is the perfect time to look at the opportunities all around us – even if they are disguised as challenges.
•
Are there unnoticed resources around us that we could be drawing on?
• Are there
others we could turn to for help or advice?
• What fear
is preventing us from taking risks and stepping into the unknown?
• And how
will the challenges we’re experiencing make us better?
As we embrace every season in life, we will begin to see something beautiful unfolding before our very eyes.
Happy Easter!
